Dear All,

We would like to let you all know, that since Marianne Rasmussen has resigned her position in The Land of Legends (former Lejre Experimental Centre) Ida Demant has taken over the task as spokesperson for study group 6 experimental archaeology.

We have been asked what study group 6 can contribute for the exhibition. We of course have ideas but if any members of study group 6 or other Dress ID participants have suggestions please let us and/or the exhibition group know.

We would like to invite the DRESS-ID participants to a workshop at the Land of Legends Lejre (former Lejre Experimental Centre) which will give practical introductions into different aspects of both textile production based on knowledge from the Roman world but also from Roman Iron Age Scandinavia. This will be hands-on experience archaeology, which will give important insights into ancient textile production and its complexity for interested DRESS-ID participants. Furthermore, the obtained knowledge can serve as inspiration for questions to be explored via experimental archaeology. Please note that this is a preliminary registration. More information on registration fee, detailed programme etc will be sent out in April.
